🌱 Seedling Update — 24 Hours Under the Grow Light

Just 24 hours under the grow light and you can already see how quickly these seedlings develop.

On the left are courgettes (Cucurbita pepo) â€” already pushing out those familiar broad seed leaves and starting to look strong and sturdy.

On the right are Crystal Lemon cucumbers â€” a bit smaller and slower to get going, but still coming along nicely.

🌿 Early observations

  • Courgettes are clearly the more vigorous at this stage
  • The grow light makes a big difference — no stretching, nice compact growth
  • Even within the same tray, you can see variation between seedlings

💡 Grow it yourself

This is exactly why it’s worth getting seedlings under lights early — especially for things like cucurbits that can quickly become leggy on a windowsill.

Once they’re up, it’s straight under the light and they respond almost immediately.
